| The discipline culture is “the coagulating agent” for the development of disciplines, the discipline organization is the basic platform for the formation of disciplines, and the discipline system is the manifestation of discipline norms. From 1927 to 1938, National Central University initiated the discipline construction from the three aspects of culture, organization and system, and the disciplines started from scratch, vigorously developed and gradually formed a relatively independent discipline system in line with the national conditions. The university became a model of discipline construction of modern universities. The experience demonstrates that discipline construction should be based on the Chinese conditions, serve the needs of the national development, and build a disciplinary system with the Chinese characteristics, that a reasonable tension between power and knowledge should be maintained through innovative discipline organizations, and that the first class discipline construction should be driven with the system construction as an effective means. |
