“五四”新文化运动是中国现代思想文化史的重要开端。由于以民主、科学、个性解放为标志的自由主义、民族主义、社会主义、无政府主义等新思想文化均舶来于西方，这些“历时性”的西方思想在中国呈“共时性”的态势展开，因此，其“复调性”也就成其为重要的特征和必然。在此后一百年的时间里，虽然在特殊的历史时期也时有“变调”的发生，但“复调”是其思想底色。

英文摘要:

The “54" new culture movement is an important beginning of ideological and cultural history in China's contemporary. Because the new thought and culture, which liberalism, nationalism, socialism, anarchism symbol of democracy, science, personality liberation, all comes from the west country, the “diachronic" western thought is developing with a "synchronic" situation in China, therefore "bitonality" become an important characteristic and inevitable. In the next one hundred years, though there is "modified tone" in the special historical period, but "bitonality" is its ideological background.
