| As a communication platform for academic papers, Chinese academic journal databases should timely find out and properly deal with problem papers, so as to provide researchers with correct, credible, scientific and authoritative literature. Through investigating 370 withdrawal statements and 404 withdrawn papers in the three databases of CNKI, Wanfang and Weipu, it is found that the three big Chinese academic journal databases all have misconduct performances in processing withdrawn papers; for example, “unreleased withdrawal statements that should have been issued, immediate deletion of papers after release of the withdrawal statements, no marking of withdrawal signs after release of the withdrawal statement, no setting of withdrawal watermarks, no link between withdrawal statements and withdrawn papers, direct deletion of papers without issuing withdrawal statements, direct marking of withdrawal signs without issuing withdrawal statements, no release of withdrawal statements, no marking of withdrawal signs and no setting of withdrawal watermarks”. Chinese academic journal databases should formulate a withdrawal statement template, standardize the process of paper withdrawal and issue of withdrawal statements, and strengthen cooperation between databases, and databases and editorial departments. |
