Xianglinsao was a typical figure persecuted by the old feudal society in Lu Xun's works. She used to be a diligent and robust working woman, and was gradually destroyed in both body and spirit. The most fundamental cause of her tragedy was the morbid, dark, old society at that time. From the perspective of feminism, Xianglinsao's tragic fate was mainly manifested in three aspects: gender consciousness revealed in address, materialization of women, and the concept of chastity in the old society, which highlighted the absurd oppression and abnormal moral values formed by gender consciousness in the feudal society. |
