In order to find out the status quo of physical exercise and BMI among college students in Jiangsu Province and explore the correlation between them, this paper investigated the participating behaviors and attitudes towards physical exercise among college students in Jiangsu province through the stratified cluster sampling, and measured their height and weight by standard methods. The results show that the low-weight students and the overweight obese students coexist, and the low-weight students are correlated with the high intensity of physical exercise (β=-0.189,P <0.05). Normal-weight students are correlated with the moderate intensity of physical exercise, time spent on exercise, and the attitude of considering physical exercise as a good recreational activity (β= 0.225,0.235,0.146, P <0.05). The overweight and obese students are correlated with the moderate physical activity and dislike of physical exercise (β=-0.356, 0.236, P <0.05) and the thought that physical exercise has no positive effect on learning (β=0.304, P <0.0001). It is suggested that colleges should strengthen the health intervention of the low-weight, overweight and obese students and promote their physical health. |
