When vowel sounds are pronounced, the shape of the tongue, lips and other organs have a certain impact on the formants. The value of the first formant mainly reflects the height of the tongue, while the second formant mainly depicts the situation before and after the tongue. This article aims at doing an acoustic research on 13 vowels, including five entering tones. By comparing male and female formants and acoustic vowels, we have found that the non entering tone vowels of Zhongxing Dialect in Siyang share the similar characteristics with those in Mandarin, but they have lower degree round lip and mouth openness. The male and female articulation demonstrates similar features. |
